FOUNDING EDITOR
Melodie J. Rodgers is the Founding Editor of SOREN LIT. Her creative writing and photography has appeared in Johns Hopkins University's Doctor T. J. Eckleburg Review, G.R.I.T.S. - Girls Raised In the South: An Anthology of Southern Queer Womyns' Voices and Their Allies, Future is Fiction, Underground, CIEE Brazil Poetry OnFilm project, and many others. She received her MFA in Creative Writing from Queens University of Charlotte. Melodie is a Black and Southern writer who lives with her hubby and warrior child beneath the sleepy magnolia trees of Stone Mountain, Georgia.

LITERARY JOURNAL SUBMISSIONS
SOREN LIT accepts fiction, poetry, and nonfiction from women, femme-identifying, and/or non-binary creatives living, from, working, and/or writing about the south.
We publish quarterly and review submissions April 1-June 1 for Summer Issue, August 1-October 1 for Fall Issue, and January 1-February 1 for Winter/Spring Issue. Writers whose submissions are accepted will retain all rights to their work.
Please read the SOREN LIT submission guidelines below completely before submitting your work for consideration.
-We prefer unpublished work. However, we will also consider previously published work as well. Be sure to list publication date and source on the document page.
Excerpts from longer projects are welcomed.
POETRY
Send 1-2 poems (2 pages maximum) attached to an email as a pdf or word document to sorenlit4women@gmail.com@gmail.com
Include a short bio (2-3 sentences) and a cover letter. Also, provide any websites or other links for SOREN readers to follow you.

FICTION

SOREN LIT has a small team of readers. We take our time with your precious work, but also respect that you are waiting for a response. Our goal is to not take too much time. We strive to reply within two to three months.
