Tia King- Summer Issue 2021

Tia King (she/they) is a 20 year old musician, creative writer, and teaching artist hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. She is an Atlanta Youth Poet Laureate Ambassador an well as Youth Speaks’ 2018 MC Olympian, as awarded to her by Brave New Voices International Festival and Poetry Slam. Her work has been published by VOX Teen Communications and in Oglethorpe University’s “The Tower.” In her Hometown, Tia continues to amplify inner city youth voices as Atlanta Word Works’ lead facilitator and collective coach

Rest In Peace Hopper, billy I’m jiggy jiggy I’m silly Not itty bitty but pretty I’m feeling feeling my city filling filling the void I been avoiding I feel gorgeous With conditions, but it’s a start Fighting, fixing my inner parts issue is I got all these problems Said the issue is, all this time I got to solve em First MC on this planet but I’m not that nigga My dick get bigger, my clitoris the only thing constant. I lost it, tryna play dress up and walk out this closet I’m off it, I’m office I been thinking bout profit and cutting my losses My mind on money, my pipes all runny and rusted Leave my conscience disgusted Who am I to be trusted?
